In 1606, in what is now Nova Scotia, the intrepid French explorer, Samuel de Champlain, started the Order of Good Cheer - or “L’Ordre du Bon Temps” as it was called then.

It was created as a social club to raise people’s spirits to get them through the long, harsh winters. It fostered a sense of community, togetherness, and hope. It was a beacon of light in a cold, dark season.

We know winters have gotten a little easier since those early days, but they’re still long and we want to make them just a little easier. So, we’re reviving this long-forgotten order and bringing you along for the ride.
